The HL7 International Foundation is non-profit organization established in Brussels in 2010 to support in cooperation with HL7 affiliates in Europe the creation of health information technology standards that are widely and easily used enabling interoperability in healthcare and addressing the needs of the enlarged Europe. HL7 is a standards developing organization (SDO), founding member of the JIC for Global Health Informatics Standardization. HL7 participates in the Semantic Healthnet NoE and eHealth Governance initiative.
